How much does a trip to Korea cost? It depends on how long you stay, where you sleep and how you travel between cities. This calculator gives a rough budget per person, using the same ranges as our Korea travel budget guide. It does not include international flights. Prices change, so treat the result as a starting point, not a quote.

How the numbers work
- Per day: about 85,000 won for a backpacker, 190,000 won mid-range and 370,000 won for a comfortable trip, covering a place to stay, food, local transport and sights. Sharing a room cuts the stay cost per person.
- KTX: about 60,000 won for a long one-way trip such as Seoul to Busan in a standard seat; shorter trips cost less. See our KTX guide.
- Jeju: domestic flights vary a lot by date; we use about 120,000 won return. Book early for weekends and holidays.
- Airport: the airport train or bus into the city and back. See Incheon Airport to Seoul.
- Exchange rate: enter today's rate from your bank or a currency app to see the total in your currency.
Ways to spend less
Eat lunch specials and convenience store breakfasts, use the subway rather than taxis, claim tax refunds on shopping and travel outside cherry blossom and autumn leaf season. Our budget guide has more, and our cash and cards guide explains how to pay. Planning the route? See 7 days in Korea.
